Antimicrobial Coated Door Hardware Provides Lasting Protection and Inhibits Growth of Bacteria

Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies announced that Schlage levers and locks, Von Duprin exit and panic devices, Glynn-Johnson push/pull levers and Ives door accessories are now available with an optional antimicrobial coating that inhibits the growth of bacteria, mold and mildew on their surfaces. The antimicrobial clear coat is a durable BHMA compliant coating that provides long lasting protection to the door hardware and enhances its appearance.

The coating utilizes ionic silver (AG+), a single atom that is missing one orbital electron. The natural antimicrobial interacts with bonding sites on the microbe surface, slowing the growth of bacteria, mold and mildew. The silver ions are released at a slow and steady rate creating a safe, continuous, long-term protection from microbes. Silver has long been recognized for its antimicrobial properties and has been used to combat microbes for many years in many applications.

Door hardware with the antimicrobial coating is available now. Schlage biometric HandKey and HandPunch readers are also available with antimicrobial protection.

Continental's Electromagnetic Locks Holding Force Ranging From 600 - 1200 lbs

Continental now offers magnetic locks ranging from 600 lbs holding force up to 1200 lbs. These magnetic locks are used in many facilities including: Airports, schools, office buildings, government and correctional institutions. The series features standard direct pull magnetic locks designed to be accompanied by other components such as push bars and exit buttons to complete NFPA/BOCA compliancy. 1 Amp Class 2 Access Control Power Supply Module

The economically priced 621B Value Series 1 Amp Access Control power supply module incorporates two field selectable 12/24VDC power limited outputs, including, 1 switched output and 1 auxiliary output. Control inputs include 1 (NO) trigger input and 1 supervised emergency release input with selectable non-latching or latching with reset capability for use where required by code. Other features include a battery charger and AC input, DC output and battery status LED indicator. An SDC TP2440, 24VAC, 40VA plug-in transformer is recommended for AC input. The SDC 621B Value series power supply module is ideal for power and battery backup of electric locking devices and access controls, including application requiring fire emergency release.

Woodgrain Expands Family to Include Redstone Custom Door

Woodgrain Millwork recently became the majority owner of Redstone Custom Door, a manufacturer of high-end patio doors currently based out of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Redstone’s products are unlike others manufactured by any of Woodgrain’s companies and are a further progression into the luxury home market served by Woodgrain’s window and door division.

As part of this venture, a new Redstone manufacturing facility is being established in Salt Lake City to produce patio doors for distribution in the U.S. The Canadian partner will maintain their current Calgary location to service the Canadian market with interior doors and select patio door products. Other Woodgrain window and door brands include Windsor Windows & Doors, Monarch Window & Doors and Atrium Patio Doors.

Kamco Supply Corp Adds Div 10 & Installation Departments
