Powers Acquires Door Shop Assets and Adds Team Members
Powers Products Co. announced the following news regarding its commercial door, frame, and hardware division:
• On March 17th, Powers acquired the assets of Complete Door Hanging and hired its owner, Paul Haney, to run its wood door machining operations. This in‐house resource will greatly improve Powers’ ability to meet growing demand in the quick‐turn, commercial tenant improvement market as well as growth in the multi‐family, assisted‐living, and hospitality markets. This shop will have full fire‐labeling capabilities and will initially operate out of its existing location at 2330 S. Kalamath in Denver.
• Powers is now the exclusive distributor for Luvipol® in the Rocky Mountain region. Luvipol® is a Spanish manufacturer of designer wood doors used extensively in high‐end multi‐family and hospitality projects around the globe. From complete customization capabilities to progressive environmental stewardship, Luvipol® brings a wealth of previously unavailable opportunities to the marketplace.
• Bill Schubert, Project Manager, and Gary Morehead, Inside Sales, recently joined the Powers team. Both Schubert and Morehead bring a wealth of industry experience to the team.

Jergens, Inc. Sets the Standard with the Introduction of the Spinner-Grip™ Flange Locking Bolt
Jergens, Inc. introduces the highly innovative, customized Spinner-Grip™ Flange Locking Bolt. Unlike most widely used bolts on the market, the Spinner-Grip Flange Locking Bolt has a conical flange design that locks the bolt to the part without the need for a lock washer. Many standard serrated flange bolts will cut into the part’s surface paint, plating, or finish, causing rust under the bolt. Yet, the Spinner-Grip bolts do not have serrations that will mar the surface or plating of parts. In addition, the Spinner-Grip Locking Bolt can be easily uninstalled and reused without reapplication of locking patches or additional hardware.
The bolts are custom made-to-order according to the individual’s specifications for their application; i.e., zinc-plated or corrosion-resistant stainless steel. This makes the bolts particularly well suited for diverse industries such as material handling, construction, medical, packaging, and racing, to name just a few. In addition, the Spinner-Grip Flange Locking Bolt can be made ideal for environments in which wide discrepancies in temperatures and harsh environmental conditions are likely to occur.

Von Duprin Celebrates a Century of Service For 100 Years, Von Duprin Has Been Providing Public Safety
Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies announced that one of its industry leading brands, Von Duprin, will celebrate its Centennial year throughout 2008. With a 230,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility, Von Duprin continues its uninterrupted 100 year tradition of high quality American-made life safety and security products. Festivities are planned over the next nine months and will include multiple customer and employee events.
According to Baker, Von Duprin began in 1908, when it introduced the first panic release bar. It had become obvious that there was a major need for letting people easily escape locked down buildings in case of catastrophe while likewise providing security during normal times. Kaba–Ilco Corp unveiled a new, more user-friendly design for its corporate Web site located at www.kaba-ilco.com. From this home page, users are at the gateway to Ilco Key Systems, based in Rocky Mount, NC, Kaba Access Control, based in Winston-Salem, NC, and Ilco Lodging Systems, Montreal, Quebec.
The revamped web site is more intuitive and better organized to make it quick and easy to navigate. The site includes straightforward menu tabs, interactive tools and downloadable files, as well as a myriad of service and support information. Dallas-based Atrium Companies Inc., manufacturer of Atrium Windows and Doors-brand products, plans to consolidate its Tolleson, AZ and Anaheim, CA manufacturing facilities.
