Marty Similuk Promoted to Vice President, Sales & Marketing of Marshfield DoorSystems

Marty joined Marshfield in June 2007 as the Director of Sales-North and since that time has proven himself to be an impact manager for Marshfield DoorSystems and its customers.  Marty’s background has prepared him well for a leadership role in the industry.  Prior to joining Marshfield DoorSystems, Marty was the General Manager of Arc One's Gaithersburg, MD location.  Before Arc One, he was President/Owner of a Michigan-based commercial door and hardware distribution company.

Marty holds a B.A. Degree in Material and Operations Management from Michigan State and a Masters Degree in Systems Management from the University of Southern California.

Pioneer Industries Hires V.P. Operations

Pioneer Industries is pleased to announce the hiring of Mr. Ralph Tarzia as Vice President of Operations.  Ralph will join the Pioneer senior management team and have full responsibility of all manufacturing operations at the Hackensack, NJ facility and report to Mitchell Dorf, President. 

Ralph is a seasoned manufacturing executive with over 30 years experience of managing manufacturing operations at various companies, including the Pioneer operations during the years of 1998-2003.  He leaves his current position where he has been since 2003 as Plant Manager of a custom metal manufacturing company that manufactures an array of items such as cell phone electronic equipment and cabinets.  While at this company, Ralph implemented a new ERP software system, which brought computerized shop floor controls and other management reporting tools to the company.

The new 6170 Series Weatherproof Pushbutton from DynaLock features a commercial-grade switch assembly, rated watertight to IP68 and completely sealed against moisture and dust intrusion. It is specifically designed to withstand outdoor exposure to the elements and other harsh environments.  The ¾" diameter white, raised dome pushbutton includes a green LED backlight, selectable for 12 or 24VDC operation. Blue Giant Introduces New Mini-Dok Comfort Series Edge-of-Dock Levelers

Blue Giant has developed a new line of mechanical and hydraulic edge-of-dock levelers with capacities from 20,000 to 30,000 pounds (9,100 to 13,600 kg) that are easy to operate and provide smooth top-plate transitions.

The new MD Comfort Series hydraulic levelers feature dual, maintenance-free cylinders to operate the deck and lip. The cylinders and motor come pre-fitted to the edge-of-dock assembly. The leveler is operated with a rugged, remote-mounted, single-push-button NEMA 4 control station. The MD-CH levelers are available in 72-inch (178-cm) and 78-inch (198-cm) widths with a 30,000-pound (13,600 kg) operating capacity and working range of five inches (13 cm) above to five inches (13 cm) below dock level.

Los Angeles-based, C.R. Laurence Co., Inc. (CRL), a supplier to the glazing, railing, architectural, construction, industrial, and automotive industries, is introducing two new products that will improve the Glass Railing and Glass Windscreen industries forever. The innovative GRS Glass Railing Dry Glaze Taper-Loc™ System is designed for residential and commercial tempered glass railing applications.  The System includes an Installation/Removal Tool and Torque Wrench, and the CRL Taper-Loc™ Set for ½" (12 mm) or ¾" (19 mm) tempered glass applications.

Reliant Glass & Door Systems Opens Milwaukee Location

Reliant Glass & Door Systems, LLC is pleased to announce the opening of a sales and service location in the Milwaukee area.  The office and shop will be located at 727 West Glendale Avenue Suite 700 in Glendale.  Reliant has been serving the Milwaukee market for commercial doors, frames, hardware and glass & glazing for many years, but the opening of a physical location will help speed-up and improve service to the area.

Based out of the Milwaukee office will be Sr. Account Manager Leon Schneider, who is responsible for servicing General Contractors and Design/Build firms involved in new construction, tenant improvements and renovation projects.  Also based out of the Milwaukee office will be Kristine Nourse, After-Market Account Manager, who is responsible for servicing Facility Managers, Buildings & Grounds Directors and building owners regarding commercial glass and door repairs, maintenance and replacements.

Amesbury LOCCA Donates Remote Access and Wireless Intercoms to Charity

Ground breaking for a new Ronald McDonald’s House in Sioux Falls, SD was held Wednesday, June 25 at 4:30pm at the site of the future 18 bedroom Ronald McDonald House which the Home Builders Association of the Sioux Empire (HBASE) is assisting in the fundraising and construction of. The Home HBASE hopes to hand the "keys" and a paid-in-full mortgage to the Ronald McDonald Charities on July 1st of 2009 by generous labor, materials and monetary donations being given by and fund-raised by the HBASE members and affiliates.

Amesbury Locca is pleased to be a member of and contributor to the HBASE project by donating over $8,500 worth of remote control access "keys" for the front and back entrances and the 18 family suites as well as wireless intercoms for the staff and guest families to use.  Now families staying at the facility will be able to access the house without keys and without having to turn the handle…just a press of the button and they can push the door open, allowing disabled and mobility impaired parents and children easy access.  The wireless intercoms will also allow house staff to speak to and unlock the doors for visitors without having to go to the door.
